In January, the Obama administration issued final regulations under Obamacare that require religious organizations, not including actual churches but including colleges, hospitals, social service agencies, etc., run by religious organizations to provide birth control coverage under the health insurance programs that they provide to their employees – even if such practices go against the doctrine and beliefs of the religious organization. In other words, among other situations, Catholic hospitals have to provide birth control coverage in any health insurance plans they provide to their employees.
Yesterday Rick Santorum surprised everyone with how well he did in Minnesota, Missouri and, especially, Colorado. One cannot help but think that the Obama administration’s issuance of these regulations increased the support for Mr. Santorum.
