In today’s Chicago Tribune, Paul Sullivan says that “[Starlin] Castro’s erratic defense and focus is one of the five issues facing the Cubs.” I wonder. Certainly Starlin’s defense needs some work and he needs to focus all the time, but he’s 22 years old and has hit .300 his first two years in the National League.
The Cubs have lots of issues, as Mr. Sullivan notes, but is Starlin Castro’s defense (and focus) one of top five – or even top ten? If the Cubs had a few more issues like Starlin Castro, they’d be going to the World Series this year.
