New Zealand is a wonderful place. The scenery, the things to do, the native people. But there is much more to New Zealand than the standard things most tourists do. That’s the purpose of this blog: To talk about all of the things to do in New Zealand after you have gone to a Maori welcoming ceremony, taken a jet boat ride, and cruised Milford Sound.
Most of these ideas come from a six-week trip that my wife and I took to New Zealand in February and March of 2014. It was a fantastic trip, especially because of some of the special things we were able to do that helped us get to know New Zealand and the Kiwis. (UPDATE: Except as noted, all pictures were taken by me during our trip to New Zealand.)
For more on why I got interested in New Zealand and how and why we decided what to see, see my post “Why ‘A Different New Zealand’”.
I am also now including some non-travel posts about New Zealand that may be of interest to people who are considering traveling to New Zealand or are just interested in a few thoughts about a fascinating country.
If any readers have ideas of their own, of special things they have done in New Zealand, I would love to hear about them, so they can be included here, too. Guest bloggers are certainly welcome.
