David Brooks wrote a complimentary column about Mike Huckabee in yesterday’s New York Times, saying, inter alia, "Huckabee is the one candidate acceptable to all factions" (I wonder what faction that puts me in), "Huckabee is the most normal person running for president" (not a high hurdle), and he "deserves" to be in the top tier of Republican candidates. (For a different view of former Governor Huckabee, see here.) Brooks did mention one concern about Huckabee, however: "His foreign policy thinking is thin." Great, just what we need. Another southern governor with whose foreign policy experience is "thin". I would have thought that having had that for 20 of the last 32 years would have been enough.
Zogby International released the results of an online survey today that show half of likely voters nationwide said they would never vote for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton for president.
At the other end of the scale, only one candidate -- Democrat Bill Richardson -- faired better than Republican Mike Huckabee.
