I have an idea. Instead of all dealing with all of the problems of trying to appoint somebody to replace President-elect Obama as senator from Illinois, why don’t we just leave the seat vacant? I mean it’s not like Obama did anything in the Senate during the last two years. He hardly showed up at all, and we got along fine. Why don’t we just wait until 2010? It might be a lot easier.
