President Barack Obama

Let us all hope that President Obama’s policies will help turn things around. It seems to me there will be at least two groups that will not be as helpful to him as one might think. The first is the Democratic Congress. I wish President Obama luck trying to control them.

The second is a Federal Reserve that seems better at creating the conditions in which bubbles grow than managing them or even cleaning up after them once they have burst. (See here.)

Because a president needs not only to decide but also, at times, to persuade, perhaps President Obama’s ability to communicate will help him - and us.
