When I first about this while driving to the train station this morning, I was confused. I thought to myself: WGN doesn’t do satire. What is this?
But upon seeing that this actually did happen, and thinking about it some more, I have come to the realization that it is all part of a very complicated plot by Karl Rove to do two things. First, he makes people who support President Obama, whether overseas or in the United States, look really foolish.
Second, and perhaps even more subtle, by building President Obama up even more than his supporters already have, Mr. Rove is ensuring that President Obama’s fall will be even greater when he actually does fail. Failure in this case being defined as either not getting his programs passed or getting them passed and then having people see how different the actual results are from what President Obama promised.
I know that liberals were always saying Karl Rove was the evil mastermind behind everything George Bush did. I just did not realize he still had so much power today.
