In a talk to the nation’s governors yesterday, President Obama said: "I don't think it does anybody any good when public employees are denigrated or vilified or their rights are infringed upon."
Of course, the week before the election last November, President Obama told an Hispanic radio audience that they should vote against their “enemies” on election day. And in December, he justified his agreement to the continuation of the Bush tax cuts for everybody, instead of just some taxpayers, on the grounds that you can’t negotiate with “hostage takers”.
Gosh, I dislike self-righteousness, especially when it is so phony.

Update (3/2/2011 8:05 am): In the last sentence, I wonder if "pompous" would have been better than "phony".
Further Update (3/2/11 8:20 am): I just figured out the right word for the last sentence. It's not "phony" or "pompous". It's "arrogant": "Gosh, I dislike self-righteousness, especially when it is so arrogant."
