26th Anniversary of First Cubs Night Game – Sort Of

Because today is the 26th anniversary of the Cubs’ first attempt at a night game (it was rained out), and because Jody Davis is singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at the Cubs game this afternoon, here is a picture of Greg Maddux, Jody, Les Lancaster and Al Nipper sliding on the tarp during the rain delay on August 8, 1988.  To say the least, Don Zimmer was mad – because, as Mark Grace said at a Cubs Convention once, Greg Maddux could have gotten hurt.
