After the terror attack in London Saturday night, President Trump tweeted the following:
“At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’”
Except, here is what London Mayor Sadiq Khan actually said:
“Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed. One of the things the police, all of us need to do is make sure we're as safe as we possibly can be.”
And then, this morning, instead of apologizing for his Sunday morning tweet, President Trump escalated things with this tweet:
“Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his ‘no reason to be alarmed’ statement. MSM is working hard to sell it!”
I don’t know which is worse: That President Trump didn’t, and apparently still doesn’t, understand what Mayor Khan said, but he tweeted these things without checking to make he got his facts right. Or that he understood and sent the tweets out anyway.
It’s just so embarrassing.
