For the next few weeks or months (as long as necessary), I am going to pin this post at the top of my blog to remind me of something I tweeted yesterday:
“As we get thru this, we must all remember that mistakes will be made. Things will be done that shouldn’t have been. Things will be left undone that should have been done. But helping each other is more important than blaming each other.”
Blaming, ranting, pointing fingers. None of that is going to get us through this situation. The key is to solve it, not to argue about whose fault it is. We’ll have plenty of time to figure who did what wrong once it’s over. For now, let’s just work to get it over.
A final thought: What I am going to do over the next few months, when I see something that I think is wrong, is to write it down – in a private diary. Then, when this is all over, I will go back and read it, to see where I was right – and where I was wrong. And if I think it is of interest, I will post it here, making sure, though, to include a higher percentage of the things I got wrong than the ones I got right.
