A comment on the upcoming change in administrations that many in our polarized America may not appreciate: Just because someone is incredibly glad Donald Trump is leaving the White House, doesn’t mean they think Joe Biden will wind up being a good president or that the Democratic Party has the right policies for the United States.
President Trump has been a terrible president; possibly the worst in our history.1 His administration did some good things (I’ve talked about them before), but the farther we got into his term and the more the decisions were made by him, rather than some of the people he appointed, the worse things got.2 While the last two months would not have happened if he had won re-election, a second Trump term could have been even scarier, perhaps especially in foreign policy and other areas where he could have acted on his own.
So, while I am really looking forward to President Trump leaving office and will be relieved when he is finally gone, I do not think President Biden and the Democratic Party will wind up doing a good job.4

1 Though Andrew Johnson could give him a run for his money.
2 I am not sure he realized some of the people in his administration appointed were doing good things.
3 Ask Mike Pence.
4 Though it would be nice if I am wrong.
Perhaps you would do best to wait and weigh each issue, as needed, before proclaiming a foreboding towards what Biden might do. The new president and survival of our democracy depend on reasonable people like you to at least give it a chance. Consider that the
muscle memory reflex of being Republican can be overcome with the allowing of new and improved ways of moving your thought.
